Introduction to UK Diving
The UK has some fabulous diving available. It can be a bit temperamental but there is marine life to enjoy, wrecks to explore and great days and weekends to be had. The UK dive community is small but welcoming. If you’ve trained elsewhere then you might find it a bit different. UK divers tend to have their own kit, and tend to dive in a dry suit. It can seem expensive to get set up but we can advise and there is a strong network of divers selling preloved kit.
We have put together a series of dives for club members who would like to get into UK Diving. There will be additional dives added in and dates will be confirmed. There will be opportunities to jump in midweek too.
The costs incurred are those of the trip e.g. dive site entry. There is no training taking place on these trips, just an opportunity to jump in with other club members to build experience in the water. UK divers generally have their own kit; we can advise on what to buy and from where. If you need to borrow a tank while you’re getting your own kit together then we ask for a full tank in return plus a fiver in the kitty for servicing.
If you’d like to join our club then we meet on the first Tuesday of each month at the Jolly Farmers in Purley from 8pm (check with us first in case we’ve a special event on). Annual club fees of £40 come with a range of benefits including discounted training, free Rescue Refresher and a lot more besides! Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or come along to a club night to meet the gang and see if you fancy diving with us!
